Owned and operated by myself, Emily LaMarca, LaMarca's Working Dogs is a German Shepherd breeder in Hammond, Louisiana. Specializing in Long coat working lines but we also have short coat, Blacks, sables, and Bicolors. I grew up raising horses and barrel racing which is where I developed an appreciation for a fine pedigree and seeing these genetics in action. From my first German Shepherd I found a passion for working dogs. My current adventure is my step into the world of protection sports. I am currently training for PSA which is a protection sport that focuses heavily on secondary obedience and control and strong nerves by creating a variety of scenarios designed to challenge the dog in all aspects. I am a member of the original Bayou Working Dogs PSA, on Facebook as Bayou PSA, located in Evadale, Texas. 

I often get messages from people requesting to come "tour the facility" but there is no facility. There is no big training building or dozens of kennels or employees strolling the property. These are my personal dogs. This is a hobby business. My dogs live in my little house with me on a 1 acre strip just outside of town. Training happens in the yard or a nearby park or store. Puppies are raised in my spare bedroom. And boarding dogs are kept in the office room. I only own a handful of dogs because I can only compete with a couple at a time. But my old retired dogs are currently the larger portion of the dogs I own.
