Puppies are placed based on temperaments, drives, and personalities. Rather than placing puppies based on looks I thoroughly evaluate my litters and temperament test each puppy and I match them with the person/family who will be the best fit. We will have a thorough conversation about the type of lifestyle your dog will live, activity levels, training, expectations, pet/sport/working goals, etc. and then we will discuss secondary preferences such as coat length, color, looks.
After evaluating the litter I will go through and match you with the puppy who is the closest match to what you need.
Primary factors are drive, confidence, energy levels, temperament, and only after these factors will I then attempt to match your secondary factors like coat & color.
Ultimately we cannot guarantee pups will mature with the predicted temperaments but we have had a high success rate so far. This method is designed to support the long term satisfaction of the client and the dog.
Puppies typically go home at 10-12 weeks and puppy selections will be made at least 1 week prior to go home day.
I do get at least 2 trainer/breeder friends to give me unbiased evaluations as well before I make final decisions.
We register all litters through AKC. This is to ensure registration is completed properly and that our kennel name is properly displayed on the dog's registration. I will require your legal name, email address, mailing address, and phone number as AKC will email you to complete the registration by verifying your ownership information through a link they will email you. All puppies will be registered as LIMITED (no breeding rights) until you complete the minimum health testing and requirements and then you will be able to have it lifted to FULL registration with breeding rights.
*I reserve the right to deny breeding rights if I have valid cause or proof of mistreatment/neglect, unethical breeding.*
By the time puppies leave our care they have received the fist two rounds of vaccines (Distemper, Adenovirus 1 & 2, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus, and Leptospirosis) and have been dewormed if needed. Puppies will have a clear fecal test and vet check before leaving.
We microchip all puppies with a FI Nano Microchip. The microchips are dual registered and will automatically have my information registered as the breeder, you will be provided with the chip number and information on how to go online and add your contact information as the current owner.
Puppies leaving with a transporter must have their microchip updated with owner information before they leave my custody.
For sport/working puppies our contract includes a 2 year Health Guarantee for your puppy against hip and elbow dysplasia and Lumbosacral Transitional Vertebrae. Read over our contract for more details.
Owning one of my puppies is a big deal to me. I expect to be kept updated on the puppies life, development, and wellbeing. I will be here throughout the dogs life to help problem solve if needed, offer boarding when needed, I will happily take the dog back under any circumstances, and help you find the resources you need such as trainers, healthcare professionals, etc.
Our puppies are typically priced between $3,000-3,500.
This price reflects the time, care, and expenses that go into our program. We research bloodlines and individual dogs for countless hours to help choose the best pairing of genetics to create even tempered, well rounded, athletic puppies. We use outside studs and shipped semen which can cost us anywhere from $1,500 to $3,000+ depending on if we do live cover breeding or artificial insemination which is always done at the top reproduction specialist vet in our area, Greene Lewis & Associates. On top of that we have extra expenses for pre-breeding check ups, progesterone testing, prenatal care, ultrasounds and xrays, medical supplies for whelping, increased food costs, vaccines and veterinary care, registration fees, and more. We also complete full genetic and physical health testing of all our breeding stock. Our dogs receive routine veterinary care, preventions, high quality food (Inukshuk Marine), we spend thousands on training gear and traveling to club, seminars, and trials to title our breeding stock. Not to mention the countless hours of care and dedication that we put into raising these litters. All of these factors contribute to the price of our puppies. We also provide a 2 year Health warranty for puppies which can be viewed at the link below.
A $500 nonrefundable, but transferable, deposit is required to get on our waitlist for puppies. This ensures the buyer is serious about purchasing a puppy and is not just filling up spots on our waitlist that could be held by serious Buyers.
The deposit is nonrefundable, but it can be transferred to another litter if the buyer needs to postpone purchasing a puppy or if the litter they initially chose did not produce a suitable puppy for their needs.
Because we can not guarantee what each litter will produce, we warn buyers that placing a deposit does not guarantee a puppy by a specific date or timeframe. Its best to expect up to a 1 year wait for a puppy that fits your preferences.
Deposits are accepted through Venmo, Cashapp, Zelle, or GoodDog.
GoodDog takes over $200 out of each sale as their commission. Even with my current litter prices I do not profit from puppies, I usually am in a loss each year or barely breaking even. If you are able to pay through cash or one of my other options please do so.
Cash is preferred as final payment for those who are picking up their puppy in person.
Under no circumstances will we accept a personal check.
Please plan your payments accordingly.
Litters are raised inside my home. I transformed the spare bedroom into a whelping room with vinyl fence dividers and kennel door panels. Whelping areas are 6'x6'. By raising them inside the house we can easily monitor their condition, temperature, and maintain a clean, sanitary puppy space.
We practice ENS in the first stage of our puppies' lives. This conditions them to different sensations, surfaces, pressures, temperatues, etc. Allowing for more confident and adaptive puppies.
We utilize several aspects of the Puppy Culture Program in raising our litters. Puppy Culture is a guide for early socialization and teaching pups things like how to handle corrections, stress, recall, crate training, socialization, desensitization and more..
Crate training is a process and does not happen in one night. It varies by puppy but can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. In order to speed up this process and make it much smoother for our buyers we start crate training here. We keep a few small crates in the whelping area with beds and encourage puppies to sleep in the crates and see them as a comforting safe space. If you will be staying in a hotel with your puppy the day that you pick them up please let us know well in advance so that we can help make travel easier by crating your puppy alone in advance.
As soon as puppies are up and walking (approximately 3 weeks old) we begin litter box training with paper pellets. This allows easy cleanup in the whelping area and aids in housebreaking.
We expose pups to a variety of surfaces, sounds, and obstacles and use food to encourage them to explore and navigate these challenges. Our goal is to produce confident puppies who can navigate through a variety of environments with ease.
Starting at 10 days we begin using puppy sound desensitization playlists from Spotify exposing them to a wide range of sounds including:
Thunder/Storms, rain, wind
Baby Cries, kids screaming and playing, various voices
Leaf blower, chainsaw, vacuum, weedeater, hair dryer, power tools
Doorbells, fire alarms, phone ringing, beeping, horns, sirens
Fireworks, gunfire, popping sounds, pots clanking, hammering
Contruction noise, traffic, downtown noise, party noise
Various music types, animal sounds (chickens, cats, horses, goats, ducks, geese, etc)
Helicopters, aircrafts, buses, trains, tractors, lawnmowers, motor cycles
And so many more sounds, its a 63 hour playlist.
We also add physical obstacles and a variety of walking surafaces and textures once pups become mobile.
