Frequently Asked Questions

Pricing

The current average pricing for health tested working line litters is $2,500-4,500. Our puppies are usually $3,000-3,500 falling midway in the pricing range. Even with current pricing we usually are still "in the hole" each year or we just break even. Breeding is about the passion for the breed for us and has never been a profitable venture.

Do you have a waitlist?

Yes. My goal is to find the very best home for each puppy and in order to do this I keep a waitlist going so that I can pair puppies to buyers based on individual needs and lifestyle. If you would like to join the waitlist fill out our application. A deposit is required upon approval.

Puppy Application

Do you perform any health testing on your dogs?

Extensively. All dogs have hips, elbows, and spines x-rayed and certified Normal by SV (Europe) or OFA (USA) so we do not breed any dogs with dysplasia, degenerative joint disease, arthritis, etc. We also Embark test all dogs which is a panel test for over 200 genetic diseases. Links for Embark are tagged under each of our breeding females. Health testing results are noted in each dog's description and actual x-rays are available for viewing for most dogs (the ones we had done at our vet after purchase, some dogs were xrayed pre-purchase)

Do the puppies see a veterinarian?

Yes, puppies will have a vet visit before pickup. As a former vet tech and experienced breeder I do typically administer vaccines myself as well as dewormer as needed. Puppies will still get a vet visit around 7 weeks old and get a fecal test before leaving. Health certificates for flight or transport companies can be completed by the vet at that time but are an additional $75.

Do you offer shipping/delivery?

I do for the lower 48 states. Ground transportation can be arranged at the buyer's cost, we have a few trusted transporters available year round. I also do occasionally drive some transports myself for a fee. You may also book a flight nanny or fly in to the New Orleans airport yourself where I can meet you with your puppy to fly home in-cabin with you..

Shipping outside of the US or to islands is a case-by-case basis and you may email us directly to inquire.

At what age do puppies go home?

This may vary with some litters especially if I am personally keeping something from the litter and am having trouble deciding. Typically by 8-10 weeks old I have made selections and  begun sending puppies off to their homes. No puppies leave sooner than 8 weeks old.

Do you offer in-home visits?

At this time I do not offer home visits. There has been in increase of cases where breeders were attacked, robbed, and even murdered in their homes over someone trying to steal puppies. There have also been many cases of breeders losing multiple puppies or entire litters to disease brought in by people visiting litters that have not been vaccinated yet. I provide photo/video updates at least weekly if not more. I am also happy to schedule a FaceTime / video call.

What do you feed your dogs & puppies?

At this time we're feeding Inukshuk Marine to adult dogs and Black Gold Ocean Fish to litters. I also supplement with CPN Vertex for adults and CPN Structure for puppies but these are not necessary. My adult dogs also get 1/4 raw. If you're looking for a good company to get a complete Prey Model Raw premix we recommend ifeedraw.com

Do you offer breeding rights?

Breeding rights are not an additional fee. Since we are such strong advocates for health testing and ethical breeding you must meet our requirements to obtain breeding rights. The dog must at minimum have hips and elbows rayed and receive passing official evaluations from either OFA, SV/FCI, or Pennhip. You must also DM test the dog if it is from a carrier parent as carriers cannot be bred to other carriers, only clears.
